Yoshitaka Amano was born in 1952 in Japan. He is an artist who is most well-known worldwide for his work on the character designs for several games in the Final Fantasy series, as well as for his illustrations of the serial novel Vampire D by Hideyaki Kiduchi. He also illustrated The Sandman: The Dream Hunters, a re-telling of a Japanese fairytale by author Neil Gaiman.
