Xianbei

Also written 鮮卑, xian1 bei1 or xian1-bei1 (in pinyin), or Hsien-Pi or Hsien Pi (in Wade-Giles).

A significant tribe residing in modern Manchuria and eastern Mongolia before migrating into areas of the modern provinces of Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Hebei, Inner Mongolia and Liaoning.

A Chinese ruler of Hsien-Pi origin was recorded as having had fair hair as were later some Tatars from the same area.
