Wooburn

Wooburn is a village in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located in the very south of the county near the River Thames, about three miles south west of Beaconsfield, three miles east of Marlow.

The village name is Anglo Saxon in origin, and means 'walled stream'. In the Domesday Book of 1086 the village was recorded as Waborne though earlier (in 1075 it had been referred to as Waburna.

The manor of Wooburn was anciently a palace of the Bishops of Lincoln.
