William Stamps Farish IV

William Stamps Farish IV (born March 17, 1939) (but usually known as WSF III), grandson of the Standard Oil president whom Harry Truman accused of treasonous dealings with the Nazis.

He is the owner of Lane's End Farm in Versailles, Ky., and is a supporter and generous contributor to many University of Kentucky programs.[1]

He was a personal aide to Zapata chairman George H. W. Bush during Bush's unsuccessful 1964 campaign for the Senate. During his presidency, Bush placed his businesses in trust with Farish while president.

He was inducted to Texas Business Hall of Fame in 1995. [2]

He was appointed US ambassador to the United Kingdom on July 11, 2001.

He was criticised in the UK for his low profile during the period leading up to the Iraq War. [3] He is reputed to provide Queen Elizabeth II's stud service.
