Wild Boar
Wild Boars, Sus scrofa, are the wild ancestors of the domesticated pig. They live in woodland in Northern Europe.
They are extinct in Great Britain, despite spurious claims of sightings.
They are distinguishable from most domestic pigs by their hair and their tusks between the mouth and the snout.
The Wild Boar was a symbol of Richard III of England.
