Whitefish Bay

Whitefish Bay is a large bay on the eastern end of Lake Superior. It begins at Whitefish Point at the west and ends at the St. Mary's River at Sault Ste. Marie on the southeast. The bay is heavily used by northbound and southbound ship traffic and has historically been the site of many shipwrecks. A portion is an underwater diving preserve. Whitefish Point is the home of a former Coast Guard station and lighthouse. Part of the station is being used by the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. The lighthouse is still in use. The point is a popular place for rock collecters, ship watchers and bird watchers.

There's also a village near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Lake Michigan with the same name.
