White ash
The white ash is one of the largest of the ash genus, Fraxinus. Native to eastern North American hardwood forests, it is a tree of mesophytic forests. The wood is strong, fine-grained, and straight-grained, and it is the wood of choice for production of baseball bats. The name white ash apparently derives from the glaucous undersides of the leaves.
The white ash is very similar to the green ash.
