Washington-Lee High School
Washington-Lee High School is located in Arlington County, Virginia and is one of three high schools in the county. The school contains around 1,500 students and teaches 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. W-L (W&L), as it is known, refers to all sports teams as the Generals.
The school is named after George Washington and Robert E. Lee.
W-L offers a myriad of subjects, including courses in science, math, history, english, computers, business, art, music, foreign languages, drama, and tech ed. The school also runs a HILT (high-intensity language training) program for students who are not well-versed in English.
While W-L offers the Advanced Placement Program, one of its unique features is that it offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, a rigorous program modeled after systems used in Europe.
The school's alumni include notables such as Sandra Bullock.
