Wartortle
Wartortle (Kameiru* in Romaji Japanese) is a Stage 1 water-type Pokémon that evolves from Squirtle at level 16 and further evolves into Blastoise at level 36. Wartortle is more aggressive than its basic form, Squirtle; it hides in water to stalk unwary prey, and uses its furry ears and tail to steer while swimming. Wartortle, and in particular its tail, is also a symbol of longevity; old Wartortles can be recognized by algae growing on their shells.
Name Origin
Wartortle's name is probably a combination of "War," "Tortoise," and "Turtle." Its Japanese name, Kameiru*, will be translated soon.
Availability
In Pokémon Red/Blue, Yellow and Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal, Wartortle can be obtained by evolving Squirtle. In Pokémon Sapphire/Ruby, Wartortle is not available at all.
Strengths / Weaknesses
Wartortle is vulnerable to Grass and Electric, and strong against Fire, Water, Ice and Steel.
