Top Hat
Top Hat is the name of a 1935 musical comedy romance film in which Fred Astaire plays a character named Jerry Travers, who is working for Horace Hardwick (played by Edward Everett Horton) and attempting to impress Dale Tremont (played by Ginger Rogers) to win her affection.
The film was written by Karl Noti, Allan Scott and Dwight Taylor, from the play by Alexander Faragó and Aladar Laszlo. It was directed by Mark Sandrich.
The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture and has been deemed "culturally significant" by the United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry.
