Tobruk

Tobruk is a sea-port in eastern Libya.

During the Second World War it was an important battle-site - it was captured by British and Australian forces on January 12, 1941, and later besieged by Germany, who took it on June 21. It was recaptured on November 11, and remained in allied hands thereafter.
