Thomas Gage

Sir Thomas Gage (1719-April 2, 1787) was a British general and commander in chief of the North American forces from 1763 to 1778 during the early days of the American Revolution.

He was part of the Braddock Expedition in 1755. He married Margaret Kemble of New Jersey in 1758. General Gage was made governor of Massachusetts under martial law in 1774.
