Theodore Wright (May 15, 1883- September 14, 1914), a British Army Captain, served in the 56th Field Company of the Royal Engineers and the British Expeditionary Force, in World War I. He was born at Brighton, and received his education from Clifton College and the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich. At Mons, along with Lance-Corporal Charles Jarvis, Wright managed to destroy Jemappes Bridge. Wright died helping an invalid across a pontoon bridge at Vailly, and two days later, on the 16th of November 1914, he was awarded the Victoria Cross.
