The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck

The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck is a comic book story by Don Rosa about Scrooge McDuck. The original twelve chapters formed a 212-pages story but Rosa has since added further chapters. The story follows the main events of Scrooge's life between 1867 and 1947, including almost all references found in Carl Barks stories about Scrooge's life till 1947 but leaving some room for Rosa and other creators to add more details later. The comic also provides information on the backgrounds and origins of many characters related to Scrooge. Most of the chapters were released in America in issues of Uncle Scrooge.

  • Part 0: Of Ducks Dimes and Destinies -Magica De Spell travels back in time to steal Scrooge's Number One Dime before he earns it.
  • Part 1: The Last of the Clan McDuck - As a child Scrooge comes in conflict with The Whiskervilles earns his Number One Dime and heads for America on a cattle boat.
  • Part 2: The Master of the Mississippi -Scrooge works for his Uncle Angus Pothole McDuck and has his first encounter with The Beagle Boys.
  • Part 3: The Buckaroo of the Badlands - Scrooge becomes a cowboy and winds up having to recover a prize bull for his boss and meets President Theodore Roosevelt while doing so.
  • Part 3.5: The Cowboy Captain of Cutty Shark - Scrooge imports some cattle to Indonesia but encounters a thief and meets his old friend Ratchet Gearloose from his Riverboat days.
  • Part 4: The Raider of the Copper Hill - Scrooge takes some prospecting lessons from Howard Rockerduck and almost becomes the owner of The Anaconda Copper Mine.
  • Part 5: The New Laird of Castle McDuck - Scrooge returns to Scotland to save Castle McDuck from being bought by The Whiskervilles.
  • Part 6: The Terror of the Transvaal- Scrooge goes to Africa where he first encouters Flintheart Glomgold.
  • Part 6.5: The Vigilante of Pizen Bluff - Scrooge goes back to America and helps his Uncle Pothole recover a stolen bag of money.
  • Part 7: The Dreamtime Duck of the Never Never - Scrooge goes to Austrailia and learns about the Dreamtale.
  • Part 8: The King of the Klondike - Scrooge finally goes to The Yukon and strikes some gold but not before being kidnapped by Soapy Slick the crooked profiteer.
  • Part 8.5: Hearts of the Yukon - Scrooge is falsely accused of tracking mud in Dawson and He plans to clear his name by any means and He thinks Glittering Goldie O'Gilt is the one that framed him.
  • Part 9: The Billionaire of Dismal Downs -After becoming a Billionaire Scrooge goes back to Scotland only to realize that he doesn't really belong there anymore.
  • Part 10: The Invader of Fort Duckburg - Scrooge and his sisters move to Duckburg and meet The Duck Family and the first three Junior Woodchucks and Scrooge has his first run in with The Beagle Boys since his riverboat days and meets President Theodore Roosevelt again.
  • Part 10.5: The Sharpie of the Culebra Cult - Scrooge and his sisters go to Panama to find a treasure but they inadvertantley interfere with a mission that President Roosevelt is on.
  • Part 11: The Empire Builder from Calisota - Scrooge goes around the world making all kinds of business deals including one bad one involving Foola Zoola and Bombie the Zombie and later meets his nephew Donald Duck for the first time and later finds out that he is the richest duck in the world.
  • Part 12: The Richest Duck in the World - After 17 years of not seeing his family Scrooge invites Donald and his nephews to Christmas Dinner and shows them his money bin but The Beagle Boys have other plans.
