Snorlax is listed as Pokémon #143 in the National Pokédex, and #298 in the Hoenn Pokédex. Snorlax was also the heaviest Pokémon before the release of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire.

Name Origin

The name "Snorlax" originates from the words "snore" and "lax" (lazy).

Availability

Snorlax is found on Routes 12 and 16 (visible) in Pokémon Red, Blue, Fire Red, Leaf Green, and Pokémon Yellow, Vermillion City in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal (visible). Snorlax is not avaliable in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, but you can trade from Fire Red and Leaf Green.

Information

All Snorlax will do all day is eat and sleep, only being awake to eat. Snorlax will eat about anything, even moldy and rotten food. The digestive juices in Snorlax's stomach can dissolve any kind of poison. It is such a docile Pokémon that children use it's large, expansive belly as a place to play.

Strengths / Weaknesses

Snorlax is weak against Rock, Ghost, Fighting, and Steel types.
