Sheffield F.C.

Sheffield F.C. is the oldest association football club in the world, having been founded in 1857. The team was originally based on various grounds in Sheffield, England, including Bramall Lane, later home of Sheffield Wednesday F.C. and now home of Sheffield United F.C.

Hallam F.C. is one of the world's oldest football clubs. It was founded in 1860 to play at the Sandygate ground in western Sheffield.

At first, Sheffield F.C. split into teams which played each other, but in 1861 they played Hallam F.C. in a local derby match which is still contested today.

Sheffield F.C. are now based in Dronfield, while Hallam F.C. still play at Sandygate, the world's oldest football ground. Both teams are in the Northern Counties East League, which is directly below the Northern Premier League on the football pyramid.
