Scott Turow

Scott Turow (born 12 April, 1949) is an American author and practicing lawyer. His books have been translated into over 20 languages and have sold over 25 million copies.

He is a graduate of Amherst College and Harvard Law School, and taught creative writing as a lecturer at Stanford University before entering his career as an attorney. He became an Assistant United States Attorney in Chicago in 1978 and served in that position until 1986. He is currently employed by the Chicago law firm of Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal, and works as a pro bono attorney in most of his cases. He was the president of the Authors Guild in 1997-1998 and continues to serve on that organization's board.
