Robert Hanssen

Robert Hanssen (born April 18, 1944) was an FBI agent who was convicted of spying for The Soviet Union. He was arrested on February 20, 2001 and charged with selling American secrets to Moscow for $1.4 million in cash and diamonds over a 15-year period.

On May 10, 2002 in exchange for cooperating with authorities, he was spared the death penalty and sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
