Pullman

Pullman is the name of some places in the United States of America:

Pullman, Illinois was a former place, now within the city limits of Chicago, where a famous strike took place in 1894. (See Pullman Strike.)

The term Pullman was often used to refer to railroad sleeping cars in the United States, and to railroad parlor cars in Europe, which were both run by the Pullman Company (founded by George Pullman).

Philip Pullman is an English writer.
