Preble County is a county located in the U.S. State of Ohio. As of 2000, the population is 42,337. Its county seat is Eaton6.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,104 km² (426 mi²). 1,100 km² (425 mi²) of it is land and 4 km² (2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.36% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 42,337 people, 16,001 households, and 12,144 families residing in the county. The population density is 38/km² (100/mi²). There are 17,186 housing units at an average density of 16/km² (40/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 98.47% White, 0.32% Black or African American, 0.21% Native American, 0.26% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.11% from other races, and 0.60% from two or more races. 0.43% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
