Pokemon Red
Pokémon Red can refer to one of two Pokémon games released by Nintendo. The Pokémon Red (the original Pokémon Red was a cartridge released for the Game Boy in concert with Pokémon Green (Japan only), Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow (Released several months later outside of Japan), and contains the original 151 Pokémon (Bulbasaur to Mew (Pokémon)). Though information about all 151 Pokémon is in the cart, the game only allowed players to catch about 110 - one would have to trade with someone who had one of the other Pokémon versions to get all of them. Some were only obtainable from special events (see Unobtainable Pokémon). The art for the game packaging prominently features Charizard, the evolved form of the starter Pokémon Charmander.
In this game, trainers can choose between the starter pokémon Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle which is given to them by Professor Oak.
The other Pokémon Red is Pokémon Fire Red, an enhanced remake of the original Pokémon Red game made for the Game Boy Advance.
