The New Mutants was a Comic book produced by Marvel comics. It ran for 100 issues (not including annuals and specials) in the late 80s. Artists included Bill Sienkewicz and Bob Liefeld. The comic's title changed to X-Force after issue 100, and numbering restarted from zero.
The premise was that a team of superpowered youngsters were gathered by Professor Xavier for training purposes. This led to a lot of adventures in and around X-Men headquarters.
