Mosfilm

Mosfilm (in Russian, Мосфильме) is a Russian movie studio, founded in November 1923 by the Soviet State Committee for Cinematography. From the Stalinist period up until the 1980ies, Mosfilm was one of the main propagandists of the Soviet government. Apart from the political pieces, Mosfilm produced many classics, such as Sergei Bondarchuk's War and Peace or Akira Kurosawa's Dersu Uzala.
