Monday Report
Rick Mercer's Monday Report is a Canadian television comedy. Begun in 2004 and hosted by comedian Rick Mercer, the half-hour show focuses on Canadian politics, combining news parody, sketch comedy and satirical editorials. The show's format is essentially a cross between The Daily Show and Mercer's prior series, This Hour Has 22 Minutes.
Every week Mercer goes on the road and turns up in a different part of the country - often communities in the news. Wherever Mercer goes, he will collect opinions, reactions and quips right on Main Street, Canada, where he'll also be doing his famous rants.
In the other parts of each show, Canadian politics and comedy come together as Mercer does his monologue in front of a live audience in Toronto, Ontario in Canada.
Monday Report is a production between Island Edge Inc and the CBC and airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
