Michigan Battle Cats

The Battle Creek Yankees are a Class A minor league baseball team, affiliated with the New York Yankees, that plays in the Midwest League.

The Midwest League came to Battle Creek in 1995 after a franchise previously based in Springfield, Illinois (1982-93) and Madison, Wisconsin (1994) moved here. The team was known as the Michigan Battle Cats until 2002, during which it was affiliated with the Red Sox (1995-98) and Astros (1999-2002). It adopted the nickname of its new parent franchise for the 2003 season.

The team's home park is C. O. Brown Stadium, built in 1989. The franchise attendance record of 171,794 was set in 1995.
