McPherson County is a county located in the U.S. State of South Dakota. As of 2000, the population is 2,904. Its county seat is Leola6.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,983 km² (1,152 mi²). 2,945 km² (1,137 mi²) of it is land and 39 km² (15 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.29% water.

The racial makeup of the county is 99.35% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.14% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.03% from other races, and 0.21% from two or more races. 0.21% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
