• Susan B. Anthony, (1820-1906), US feminist
• Thomas Henry Huxley, (1825-1895), coiner of the term agnosticism
• Mark Twain, (1835-1920) American author
• Emile Berliner, (1851-1929), inventor
• Bertrand Russell, (1872-1970), Welsh philosopher
• Robert Heinlein, (1907-1988), (refused on various occasions to commit to a firm belief in any theological or metaphysical propositions)
• Andy Rooney, (b. 1919), broadcast personality
• Rabbi Sherwin T. Wine, (b. 1928), founder of The Society for Humanistic Judaism, coined the term "ignosticism"
• Larry King, (b. 1933), broadcast personality
• Carl Sagan, (1934-1996), astronomer and skeptic
• Stephen Hawking, (b. 1942), physicist, sometimes deals with the possible implications of his theories on the concept of God
