Life on the Mississippi

Life on the Mississippi is a memoir by Mark Twain detailing his days as a steamboat pilot on the Mississippi River and describing a later trip he took through the South; there is also some history of the riverboat industry on the Mississippi before the Civil War, as well as, most likely, some tall tales.

It is said to be the first book composed on a typewriter.
