Liberty International Airport
Newark Liberty International Airport is located about four and one half miles southeast of Newark, New Jersey; the Airport is about fourteen miles east of midtown New York City, New York.
The airport is hub to Continental Airlines and has the IATA Airport Code EWR. Newark is one of two international airports serving New York City; the other airport is JFK International Airport. Newark International Airport has service to other destinations in the United States, as well as Canada, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Newark Liberty started out as Newark International Airport, as the first New York City area Airport. On September 11, 2001, United Airlines Flight 93, which was on its way between Newark and San Francisco's San Francisco International Airport, crashed in Pennsylvania, due to a passenger uprising against terrorist hijackers who wanted to crash Flight 93 into the Capitol in Washington, DC.
Because of the event, Newark Airport was renamed Newark Liberty International Airport.
Newark Liberty International Airport has three major passenger Terminals, with Terminal C being the newest and most heavily used.

The airport also has a connecting monorail system that passengers can use to travel to its parking lots and a train station on the Northeast Corridor Line (between Trenton, New Jersey and New York City, New York). (The Northeast Corridor station also has a luggage check-in desk for Continental Airlines.) The train, operated by Amtrak, stops at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Wilmington Rail Station in Wilmington, Delaware, Penn Station in New York, New York, Stamford Rail Station in Stamford, Connecticut, and New Haven Union Station in New Haven, Connecticut. New Jersey Transit also operates to Penn Station, as well as Newark's Penn Station, New Brunswick, New Jersey, Metropark station, the Jersey Shore, and other parts of New Jersey.
Buses and Taxis
Numerous bus services run between Newark Liberty and various population centers, such as New York City and Newark, New Jersey. New Jersey Transit and the Olympia Trails bus company are among them, and taxis also run between New York City and Newark Liberty.
