Lester Bird

Lester Bryant Bird (born 1938) is the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda. He was chairman of the Antigua Labour Party from 1971 to 1993, became Prime Minister after his father, Vere Cornwall Bird, the previous PM, resigned.

His government won re-election in 1994 and 1999. In 2003 he temporarily became a leader of a minority administration.

Lester Bryant Bird did NOT repeat Not become "leader of a minority administration" in Antigua and Barbuda in the year 2003,as you state. The Antigua Labor Party govermental administration that he led was resoundingly defeated in the Antigua and Barbuda general elections of 23 March 2003 by the United Progressivew Party, which was led by the current Prime Minister the Honourable Baldwin Spencer. Mr Lestrer Bird was also personally defeated in that poll and no longer is a Parliamentarian although is still the leader of the Antigua Labor Party.
