Lancaster Canal

The Lancaster Canal is a canal in Lancashire in the north of England, from Preston to Tewitfield near Kendal in south Cumbria.

Designed by civil engineer John Rennie in 1792, it took seven years to complete. Its most notable feature is an aqueduct across the River Lune just north of Lancaster.
