MalaysiaJohor.png

Johor, also Johore, is one of the states of Malaysia. It is the southernmost state in Peninsular Malaysia being South of Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang and North of Singapore from which it is separated by the Straits of Johor.

Johor is linked to Singapore by two land links - one causeway which carries a road and a railway and one road bridge. The causeway was completed in 1915 and the bridge (the "Second Link") was completed in 1996.

Johor is the largest producer of oil palm in Malaysia.

The state of Johor is divided into the districts of Johor Bahru (the capital), Kluang, Kota Tinggi, Batu Pahat, Muar, Pontian, Segamat and Mersing.

As of 2000, the estimated population of Johor is 2.7 million people.
