John Frusciante
John Frusciante (born March 5, 1970) is a guitarist performing with The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
He first joined the band following Hillel Slovak's death on June 25, 1988. He made his first two albums with them in 1989 and 1991. He had already begun recording his first solo album before leaving the band in 1992, and released it in 1994.
Frusciante underwent rehab several times rejoining the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1997; their bass player Flea was instrumental in that return.
His rehab of 1998 produced an apparently sustained recovery. He has made additional records both solo and with the band since then.
