Jerry Tuite

Jerry Tuite, best known as The Wall, Malice or, in Japan, Gigantes (December 24, 1966-December 6, 2003), was a professional wrestler born in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.

Tuite broke into the wrestling business in the mid-90s after learning the ropes under veteran Iron Mike Shorpe at his training school in New Jersey. He spent some time in the WCW Power Plant before he wrestled full-time as The Wall, first starting as a second for Berlyn (Alex Wright), then moved to the singles division.

With his natural size, he was pushed as a monster heel. Tuite also performed as Sgt. AWOL during his WCW run. He briefly had a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. Not only did Tuite change his outlook on life, he also completely revamped his look, coming back strong in the independent scene. He was given a second chance at the big time in Total Nonstop Action, performing under the moniker of Malice.

Here he experienced a great deal of success. As Gigantes, he had been a regular performer with All Japan Pro Wrestling for the remainder of 2003. In his final match on December 5, "Gigantes" teamed with Bull Buchanan and Justin Credible to defeat Nobutaka Araya, Tomoaki Honma and Kazushi Miyamoto in Tokyo.

The next day, Tuite died just after completing the final tour date. The cause of his death was reported as being an acute heart attack. He was only a few days shy from turning 37. We Wikipedians send our condolences to the family and friends of Jerry Tuite.
