James Stirling (architect)
James Stirling (1926 - 1992) was one of Great Britain's most important architects starting from the 1960s. Stirling was born in Glasgow and obtained his architecture degree at Liverpool University, but set up office in London. He was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 1981.
The Stirling Prize, a British annual prize for architecture since 1996, was named after him.
