Isoko Major Towns

The Isoko's are a friendly community living in the lower Niger Delta Region of Nigeria. They are blessed with much mineral resources.

They are diversified in the common language (Isoko) which is spoken in the area.

Isoko has two main local government areas - Isoko South (Irri as Headqaurters) and Isoko North (Ozoro as Headquarters).Some Major towns in Isoko are:

Irri,Ozoro, Okpe, Ofagbe, Uro, Ada, Orie, Idheze, Utue, Ivrogbo, Iyede, Owhe, Bethel, Oyede, Iluelogbo,Ivori,Ibrede, Emede,Olomoro, Igbide and others.

Isoko major towns; are without doubt thus; Aviara, Ellu, Enwhe, Emede, Emevor, Erokwa, Irri, Igbide, Iyede, Ofagbe, Okpe, Oleh, Olomoro, Ovrode, Owhe, Oyede, Ozoro, Umeh, Uzere, yes it is difficult to define major towns in Isoko, it depends on the tape being used; is it, foundation towns, historical geographical, importance. Most Isoko towns started as settlements and majority of them for a long time refused to welcome foreigners, which hindered their growth to the advantage of those who opened their arms to them. The Headquarters of Isoko South OLocal Government is Oleh and not Irri.
