Gambas

Gambas is an acronym for Gambas almost means basic. Gambas makes it very easy to build linux programs with a GUI. It uses Qt to create the GUI.

There ist a Windows version of Gambas, which has no copyright problems in contrast to Visual Basic.

Gambas has been developed by Benoît Minisini, who lives near Paris, France.

Gambas is distributed by the Linux Professional Distribution 9.0 from Suse and is installed correctly.

With Gambas you can easily

• make a program with a grafic user interface [GUI]]
• use datebases like MySQL or PostgreSQL
• build KDE applications with DCOP
• translate your programs in other languages.
• offer Visual Basic programs under Linux.
• build network solutions

Gambas is improving every month and can be recommended to all linux- and windows users, who want to use their VB knowledge on a GNU basis.
