Francisco Morazán Department

Francisco Morazán is a Department of Honduras, Central America, in the central part of the nation. The department capital is Tegucigalpa, which is also Honduras's national capital. Until 1943 it was known as Tegucigalpa Department. It is named after national hero Francisco Morazán.

In 2001 the department of Francisco Morazán had an estimated population of some 1,180,700 people,
