Flag of Azerbaijan
The Flag of Azerbaijan consists of three equal horizontal bands of blue (top), red, and green; a crescent and eight-pointed star in white are centered in red band. The eight points of the star stand for the eight branches of the Turkish people. The blue band is for the turkic people, the green is for Islam and red is for progress. This flag was actually used in the late 1910s until Azerbaijan was annexed by the USSR.
