False Nero
Terentius Maximus was a Roman also known as the False Nero, who rebelled during the reign of Titus, but was suppressed. He resembled Nero in appearance and in action, as he was known to perform singing with the accompaniment of the lyre. According to different accounts, he was either a slave from Pontus or a freedman from Italy.
He gained his first followers in Asia. He gained many more during his march to the Euphrates. He later took refuge with Artabanus, a Parthian leader.
