Empress of Ireland
The RMS Empress of Ireland was a steamship owned by Canadian Pacific that sailed from Quebec City, Quebec, Canada to Liverpool, United Kingdom.
On 2:00 a.m. on May 29, 1914, while sailing to Liverpool in the Saint Lawrence River, the Empress of Ireland collided with a Norwegian ship. That ship did not sink, but the Empress of Ireland sank quickly, killing over 1,000 people.
