Cumberland Falls

Cumberland Falls is a large waterfall on the Cumberland River in southeastern Kentucky that is the central feature of Cumberland Falls State Park. It spans the river, which here forms the boundary between McCreary County and Whitley County, with the park located in both. The park is within the Daniel Boone National Forest.

The falls are 68 feet high, flowing over a resistant sandstone bed, and usually around 125 feet wide.

Cumberland Falls is promoted to have a moonbow on clear nights under a full moon. This is a rainbow that becomes visible in the mist of the falls during the night.
