Clifton College

Clifton College is a coeducational independent school in Bristol, England.

It is divided into three separate sections: the Pre-Preparatory takes children from the ages of 3-8; the Preparatory is for boys and girls from the ages of 8-13, and the Upper School is for students aged between 13-18.

Like many private English schools, it has a focus on Christianity, but there is also a boarding house for Jewish boys in the Upper School: the only one of its kind in Europe. Also, like many other private English schools, its excellent facilities come with large school fees, although a number of scholarships are available.

Clifton's alumni include Monty Python actor John Cleese, artist Roger Fry, poet Henry Newbolt and three Nobel Prizewinners: John Kendrew (Chemistry), John Hicks (Economics) and Nevill Mott (Physics).
