Chittagong Hill Tracts

The Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) with an area of 13,180 sq km is located in the south-east part of Bangladesh, border with India and Myanmar(Burma). CHT is under the Chittagong division and divided three districts; Khagrachari, Rangamati and Bandarban. Popuration of CHT is about 1 million to 1.5 million.

CHT is very famous as an indigenous peoples land in Bangladesh. Ethnic groups in the CHT are Chakma, Marma, Tripura, Tanchangya, Chak, Pankhua, Mru, Bawn, Lushai, Kyang, Khumi.
