Bill Schelter

William F. Schelter (died July 30, 2001) was a professor of mathematics and a Lisp programmer, responsible for the GNU Common Lisp (gcl) implementation of Lisp and the free version of the computer algebra system Macsyma called GNU Maxima.

In the summer of 2001 he died while travelling in Russia.
