Battle of the Thirty

The Battle of the Thirty took place in 1351 during the Hundred Years' War, in which 30 French knights from Chateau Josselin chosen by Beaumanoir called out and defeated 30 English knights from the forces under Pembroke and Brambaugh in a classic example of chivalry. Although the battle settled nothing, it became the basis of troubadour legends and was retold in the chronicles of Jean Froissart.
