Azad Kashmir
Azad Kashmir, a name which means "Free Kashmir" in Urdu, is claimed to be an independent state established by Pakistan in a part of the former princely state of Jammu & Kashmir that is occupied by Pakistan. It is the Pakistani name for the region that India calls "Pakistani occupied Kashmir"
Pakistan divided the area under its occupation into three parts:
- The Islamic Republic of Azad Jammu & Kashmir,
- The Northern Areas, which are administered as a de facto 'Union Territory' and as an integral part of Pakistan, and
Ostensibly autonomous, the Islamic Republic of Azad Jammu & Kashmir is administered directly by a Secretary to the Pakistan Government - the Secretary for Azad Jammu & Kashmir - while it has a nominally independent setup, with President, Prime Minister, legislature, etc.
Demography
The Islamic Republic of Azad Jammu & Kashmir is predominantly populated by the Hindko nationality, speaking the Hindko language.
The nomadic, herder ethnic group of the Gurjars form the largest minority. The Gurjars largely inhabit the upper hills and slopes.
Azad Kashmir is predominantly Muslim. Both the Hindko and the Gurjars are Muslims.

Hi friends, I suggest name this Azad Kashmir 'Gurjar Desh'. Attach some parts of J&K and make it autonomous territory so that Gurjar people who have suffered so much, are given some solace. Its administrative control will remain under India for a period of 50 years and afterward will be on the wishes of Gurjars where they want to go. How's it? Manzoor Gujar

Kashmir belongs to Gujjars. Pakistan should and must lay off it for ever. Why Kashmir should be given to Pakistan. There is no reason. Religion is not the case. More than Pakistan, India has more Muslims. So whole Kashmir (including Chitral etc. or POK or Azad Kashmir, whatever it is called) should be given to India. This is the final solution. It is in the interest of Muslim and Pakistan and India and the whole World. Mohd. Ismail Chowdhary
