Arunachal Pradesh is a state of India. It is one of the two primary regions (along with Aksai Chin) claimed by both China and India.
Arunachal Pradesh, formerly called NEFA (North East Frontier Agency), was part of the state of Assam until 1987. It was given statehood after taking into consideration the security consideration in the east and Sino-Indian tensions.
