Alvin and the Chipmunks

Created by Ross Bagdasarian, Alvin and the Chipmunks have had a lengthy career as animated, singing chipmunks. They were created for a gimmick song, where Bagdasarian's voice was sped up, to sound higher for the "The Chipmunk Song" (also known as "Christmas Don't Be Late").
Collectively known as Alvin and the Chipmunks, Alvin, Simon and Theodore are managed by their human "dad" Dave Seville.
The Chipettes

There is also a female band spun-off Alvin and the Chipmunks, called The Chipettes. They consist of Brittany, Eleanor and Jeanette, managed by Ms. Miller. They are essentially female versions of the Chipmunks.
