Air Koryo

Air Koryo (Choson Minghang, IATA code JS) is the state owned airline of North Korea. It is based at Sunan International Airport in Pyongyang.

Its main international trunk routes are Pyongyang-Beijing and Pyongyang-Shenyang. There are also weekly flights to Bangkok, Khabarovsk, Macau, Moscow, and Sofia. During the Cold War, the airline also flew to Berlin and Prague, although those flights have since been discontinued.

Air Koryo's transcontinental flights use Ilyushin Il-62 aircraft, while shorter-range flights use Tupolev Tu-154's. The airline also has a fleet of Antonov An-24 and Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft that are used for air freight services.

Air Koryo is North Korea's sole civil aviation entity, and is responsible for taking the country's government officials overseas. It claims to offer domestic services in additional to its international flights. Western and South Korean analysts have been unable to find evidence that such services exist.
